The Peace of Emptiness

Prajnaparamita Empowerment & Commentary to the Practice

This event will be available to attend in-person & online. In-person seating is very limited. Pre-registration is required.

We often view ourselves in a very fixed way and relate to this sense of self as if it were our true nature. Viewing our self in this way can make us feel like we can’t change and that our limitations are an intrinsic part of our nature.

Buddha taught that all our suffering and unhappiness arise because our way of relating to ourselves is completely mistaken. Through meditating on Buddha’s teachings on emptiness, or ultimate truth, we can discover our true nature and realize that the only limitations we have are the ones created by our minds of confusion.

In order to actualize this pure, limitless potential within and realize the profound wisdom understanding the true nature of things, we need to receive inspiring blessings from the Buddha Prajnaparamita, the Great Mother.

The word “prajna” means wisdom and “paramita” means perfection. Buddha Prajnaparamita is therefore a manifestation of the Perfection of Wisdom. She is called “The Great Mother” because all Buddhas are born from this wisdom which is associated with deep compassion for all living beings.

Meeting Prajnaparamita and receiving her empowerment blessings will ignite our own inner light of wisdom, so that we become a truly beneficial being in this world.

Join us for Prajnaparamita Empowerment & Teachings on the Heart Sutra. This is a special opportunity to receive powerful blessings to transform our mind and receive teachings that will guide us to a deeper understanding of the true nature of our world. Through this, we can begin to overcome both outer and inner obstacles, improve the quality of our mind, benefit others in meaningful ways, and make swift progress on our spiritual path.

What to Expect

During this special event, Gen Kelsang Chokyan will grant Prajnamaramita Empowerment, the female enlightened being who is the manifestation of Buddha’s perfection of wisdom. Functioning to overcome outer and inner obstacles, Prajnaparamita empowers us to experience a lightness of being and make swift spiritual progress.

Following the empowerment you will receive practical advice on how to integrate Buddha’s wisdom teachings into our modern, busy lives. Applying this brief practice in this way will help us to overcome obstacles to our spiritual development, fulfill our wish for a meaningful life, and draw us ever closer to the enlightened qualities of wisdom, love, and joy.

• discover the peace of emptiness
• learn to relate to everything as a dream, an illusion, a rainbow
• learn a special method for overcoming difficulties and adversities in daily life

The Empowerment is a special blessing ceremony and guided meditation during which we make a personal connection with Buddha. The Commentary reflects on the many good qualities of Prajnaparamita followed by a guided meditation of her practice of The Yoga of Great Mother Prajnaparmita.
