Mandala Offering Retreat

INTRODUCTION TALK | FRIDAY, 6:30PM with Gen Kelang Chokyan

Creating merit, receiving blessings, and fulfilling spiritual wishes

We have all tried to find happiness by improving material things and external conditions, but instead of making us happy, improving external conditions has only increased the suffering, dissatisfaction, and fear in the world. We can see this very clearly. From our side, therefore, we need to seek happiness from a different source.

We all wish for spiritual realizations, pathways to pure happiness, but these depend upon creating certain inner conditions such as purifying negativity, accumulating merit, and receiving blessings.

In this retreat, we will focus on the preliminary practices of accumulating merit, or positive energy, by making mandala offerings. In this way, we can realize our deepest wish to experience lasting happiness.

Engaging in Mandala Offering Retreat is a powerful way to make swift progress in your spiritual journey. We will be using the prayer booklet, The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land. You can read more about mandala offerings in the following texts by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso: The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra, Great Treasury of Merit, and The New Guide to Dakini Land.

Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Chokyan, will give the Introduction Talk and guide all retreat sessions. If this is your first time engaging in this retreat, you are strongly encouraged to attend the Introduction Talk on Friday night.
